The American Society of Registered Nurses (ASRN) was founded in 1974 by a small group of nurses who shared a commitment to medicine to advocate for nurses and improve the quality of life for all patients. For over 45 years, the ASRN has been serving nurses across the country, in all specialties. The American Society of Registered Nurses provides for the well-being of nurses, students and academia. The ASRN is a national organization of multi-specialty nurses who apply scientific knowledge, clinical research and technical expertise to the study, diagnosis, and treatment, with compassionate care of patients across the spectrum of health.
The American Society of Registered Nurses continually strives to improve the quality of medical services through:
• The development of evidence-based clinical programs
• Funding medical research
• Legislative and regulatory advocacy efforts
• Providing industry-leading continuing medical education (CME) in the form of educational conferences, online training, professional references and white papers
• Publishing the Journal of Nursing and the Journal of Advanced Practice Nursing, our flagship journals.
The American Society if Registered Nurses is headquartered in beautiful Sausalito, California, across the Golden Gate Bridge. We further our goals through community involvement, education, advocacy, public outreach, member services, and professional excellence.
